Coventry is a town rich with history in Kent County, Rhode Island. Incorporated in 1741, Coventry was mainly a farming town and wasn't modernized until the 20th century. Today, the western part of town remains somewhat rural, while the eastern section has been suburbanized.

The history of Coventry hasn't been lost, however, with many of the historical buildings still standing in town. Coventry is the home to the General Nathanael Greene Homestead which housed the Revolutionary War general from 1770 to 1776. The Homestead is still preserved today and has been opened as a museum for residents and visitors to enjoy since 1924.

Because of its diverse landscape, there are an array of outdoor activities to do in Coventry. The town has parks, fields and a public beach as well as playgrounds and picnic areas. Water activities are popular in the town and residents have access to canoe and boat launches. Johnson's Pond, a waterfront neighborhood in Coventry, is a popular fishing spot and has been voted by Wakeboarding Magazine as the best location in Rhode Island for wakeboarding.
