Portsmouth

Portsmouth is a town in Newport County located on Aquidneck Island. The town is surrounded by smaller islands including Hog Island, Hope Island, Prudence Island, and Patience Island.

Portsmouth has many historic sites including Glen Farm, which is home to the Newport International Polo Series. Visitors can view historic buildings in Basic, Simple Greek Revival, and Early Victorian styles.

Residents can enjoy Sandy Point Beach, located on the Sakonnet River, and a myriad of outdoor activities including boating, fishing, and golfing. The United States Sailing Association is also headquartered in Portsmouth.
