Exeter is a town in Washington County, Rhode Island with roughly 6,300 residents. Incorporated as separate from North Kingstown in 1742, the town has a rich history with many historical buildings still standing today.

There are several historical districts in Exeter with preserved architecture dating back to the 18th century such as textile mills, homes, farms and churches. Nine sites in town are included in the National Register of Historic Places.

Residents and visitors can also explore the state's history at Exeter's Tomaquag Museum-Rhode Island's only museum dedicated to local Indigenous Peoples. Located in historic Arcadia Village, visitors can explore the local sites as well as the museum's over 20,000 cultural objects.

Exeter also has contemporary attractions like Yawgoo Valley-the only skiing resort in Rhode Island. With over 14 skiing trails, Yawgoo offers skiing lessons for Exeter residents and visitors. The park is also open during the summer with 750 feet of slides and three pools for visitors to enjoy.
